Strange location for a new restaurant, even with the sucess of Ruby's down the street, this stretch of Mulberry is not that happening. American Diner looks like some Europeans designing what they thought personified an American diner. And as it turns out, the people behind the American Diner are the same as behind the too hip for school Bread & Bread Tribeca. The food was disappointing, the menu didn't even carry many of the classic American diner staples. We really have to stop going to places within days of their opening!
