Cafe Noir and a gallery visit

12-28 Ken Lau at the Deitch Gallery12-28 Cafe Noir
This warm sunny weather is a great excuse to combine a gallery visit with lunch. Ken, our summer intern from several years ago, sent us an invitation to the Up Next show at the Deitch Gallery. Featuring work from the recipients of Hadar Foundation scholarships, we were so excited to see Ken's Chinese calligraphy in person. A pretty traditional medium, yet strangely unconventional in today's art world.
Afterwards we walked onward to Cafe Noir for lunch. Typically a place we think of mostly for drinks after work, it turns out Cafe Noir has a pretty decent lunch menu with a rather decent bar burger. All in all, a very pleasant afternoon spent out of the office.
