Couldn't resist sharing this non-local lunch. The Costa Ricans have a classification of eateries called the soda, small spots serving "typical" cuisines. In Nosara our local lunch spot was the Soda Vannesa. Everyday we went over for some casado, a dish consisting of all the things you need for a meal. Casado means married because the dish is the sum of individual parts - rice, beans, salad, usually fried bananas, tortillas and some sort of meat. Soda Vannesa had probably the best rice and beans I've ever eaten, hands down.
