The New Museum

10-22 The New Museum
We've been meaning to stop by the New Museum for lunch since they opened last year but well you see what happens when you're an architect working down the street from a major architectural moment - procrastination. Maybe we had been putting it off because we were pretty certain it would be a bland, overpriced lunch. Overpriced it was, but surprisingly the sandwiches themselves were not so bad. They offer slight variations on standard sandwiches like tuna salad but ala the French pan-bagnat, or chicken salad but with wasabi mayonnaise and even the ham sandwich comes with a mango chutney. Certainly not a place we need to return for lunch, but not a bad place to end up if you're out of town and museum hopping.
