Lunch at Hiroko's Place has never been a quick affair, it always takes a solid hour, occasionally more. But today's surpassed even normal expectations by lasting a full hour and 40. We suspect it was the seafood doria that Edo ordered. Doria is this concoction of rice, meat and a creamy bechamal-type sauce, baked in a casserole dish like a gratin. It's halfway between France, Italy and Japan although even the Japanese do not seem to know where it truly originated from.
