FPB, aka Francoise Payard Bakery


It feels weird to have a Payard downtown, particularly since the old Patisserie was such a bastion of Upper East Side lunching. But everything about FPB, including its logo and look, has an appropriate "downtown" feel, albeit a very stylish one. The sandwich and salad we had were just fine and probably more than fine if you wanted a meal on the go. We sat in the little cafe feeling very shabby chic.
