Shanghai Cafe, with Hong

05-11 001
We always save Shanghai Cafe for when we know Hong will be in town. We debate ever so briefly whether we should order anything new but the answer is always no. Good call because our usual order of string beans, soup dumplings and rice cakes was especially delicious today. We concluded that in order to try new dishes we would have to invite 2 additional people to lunch so as not to give up our winning trifecta.

Their Sliced Beef Tendon in Spicy sauce is an excellent appetizer. Also, I think their soup dumplings are the best I've foudn in Manhattan.
