Auld acquaintances, but not forgotten

03-28 Calexico
10-09 Acme
04-02 Jup She
Finally, as we bring in the new year, let us not forget those lost to us this past year. Here is to meals we will never have again, experiences relegated to the ephemera of our minds. First to go was the Broome and Broadway location of the Calexico cart. No longer will their large burritos of satisfying grilled meats be at our disposal. Then Acme folded to rumors of new management, new menu, new whatever we didn't care because the blackened catfish with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes will never grace our taste buds again. And lastly, what makes us weep the most is the closing of Jup She. It certainly was not the best Korean food, not even close, but it was the only kimchi within minutes of our office and a place we went to again and again when we had no time for the real stuff. Jup She, you are not forgotten.
