In brief: Rarely has the lunch trifecta of soup dumplings, sauteed string beans and rice cakes with shredded pork and preserved cabbage ever disappointed us. Maybe once the string beans were a little soft.
09-04 Shanghai Cafe Deluxe
I was intensely craving soup dumplings today so I'm glad it was not pouring yet around lunchtime. For total change of pace at Shanghai Cafe, we decided to live on the edge and try the bean curd skin with a side of soup dumplings. It was good, though not as refined as 456 Shanghai nor did it have the addition of pork as in Shanghai Heping. We shared a table with 4 random single male diners today, which gave us plenty of space for oogling the fried rice next to us or the pork dumplings across from us.
