Malaysian Winter Market

It is not too late for you to try the Malaysian Winter Market at Bryant Park, they are open tonight for dinner from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Lunch today was a bustling affair amid the bright winter sunshine. Both Nyonya and Auria's Malaysian Kitchen had lines out the door so we opted for the more manageable Laut, Fatty Crab and New Malaysia. Fatty Crab served a noodle soup, Java Mee Goreng, which wasn't bad and rather nicely spicy. We adored the super tart rice soup from Laut, called Choy Cheok Tong for those of you in the know. The plainness of the rice noodles from New Malaysia proved to be a nice complement to the soups. There are not a lot of table so plan on warm layers to sit outside or waiting for a table to open up or eating while standing. Midtown Lunch has a more detailed write up.
