In brief: It's pretty good, but the smoke treatment makes everything taste kinda the same.

The jamming club music is not conducive to a lingering lunch, but maybe Tres Carnes does that deliberately. The two times we've been, even though the line is out the door, there is always a seat when we're ready to eat. I like the Tres Carnes rice bowl, it's a nice amount of food. And since it's just around the corner, makes for an easy, if extremely loud, lunch.
