Blue Dog Kitchen Bar

11-21 Blue Dog Kitchen Bar
I decided to try somewhere I haven't been today, and decided to stop in Blue Dog Kitchen Bar. The inside was not what I expected at all; very few seats intimate and a cute lunch-y place. A couple even seemed to be having a hot date there (though not somewhere I would have thought to take a hot date). Either way, I've loved the not so sophisticated Havarti cheese since I was a young teen-ager and I was intrigued that most of their sandwiches featured it. While eating avocados isn't the very carbon footprint friendly, I decided to offset it with forgoing the meat. And who doesn't crave a avocado sandwich from time to time? I certainly do quite frequently. While the sandwich wasn't ground breaking, everything was fresh and the ripe but not-so-flavorful avocado was boosted by the.. you guessed it, Havarti cheese.

I wasn't aware of the carbon issue with avocados. Is it because of the distance they have to be shipped or something with the growing process?

I almost don't want to know because I am a regular purchaser of a bag o avocados (along with pretty good Havarti) from Costco.
