The Stage

02-14 on the way to the Stage02-14 The Stage
How dumb are we, on the first snow of the year we trek up to the East Village for lunch at the Stage. But once I hear the words meatloaf and mashed potatoes, there is no way I can resist. Even in the face of biting winds and freezing hail. The Stage is an Ukranian run counter diner, I'm pretty sure everything I've tried there is delicious. A short list of must eats includes breaded and fried meatloaf, meat and pototo perogies fried or boiled, borscht, keilbasa omelettes, chicken noodle soup and potato pancakes. There are little old ladies in the back making everything fresh and to order.
Stage Restaurant, 128 Second Avenue btwn 7th and 8th
