Xe Lữa

Today's happiness comes in the form of piping hot bowls of phở tái chín (oxtail noodle soup with rare beef and well done brisket) from Xe Lữa down below Canal. Where did this sudden drop in temperatures come from? Even layers of jackets, scarves and hand warmers didn't assuage the chilly outside. It wasn't until after some hot tea and that wonderful bowl of phở did we feel restored to our usual selves.

No we haven't, although I suspect this is the former restaurant called Vietnam in the basement of Doyers alley...
