Bún, lunch with Iridesco and 5.5

Several happy accidents arrived for lunch today:
1. Michael Bao Huynh moved from Bao 111 in the East Village to Bún right around the corner on Grand Street.
2. The Iridesco boys called at precisely the moment we were debating what to eat for lunch.
3. They were already at Bún.
And we're happy to report for our neighbors down the street that Bún for lunch was a success! It's Vietnamese food but more refined. The essential ingredients and smells are all there and slightly more elegant. We're definitely going back to try more dishes.

I have been meaning to post this for a while, but I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for the work you put into your blog.

I live in Montgomery, Alabama... not exactly the best place for a guy (like me) who enjoys a wide variety of foods from around the world, and your blog gives me a daily dose of enjoyment, not to mention a tinge of jealousy (except for the other day when you ate Subway. Ugh.)

I particularly enjoy the photos of Asian food. While the food situation here is improving, especially with the location of the Hyundai car plant nearby, we obviously don't have the variety of options that you have. Your blog lets me "travel" daily to the Big City and capture a small bit of that life.

Thanks again for the great work, and just know that every time you post a picture, there is a guy in the deep south who has his day brightened just a bit because of your efforts.
