Central Buffet

05-22 Central Buffet05-22 Central Buffet
We call this place the candy shop because it's like being a kid and walking into a candy shop packed with options. Only Central Buffet's options are not-your-typical Chinese entrees arrayed along the perimeter of the store. It's cheap, it's fast and it's easy. What more could you ask for from a Chinatown lunch?
Central Buffet, 195 Centre Street at Howard

Are those round, brown objects some kind of preserved egg?

If so, how did they taste? If not, what are they?

They're just hard-boiled eggs stewed in a soy base broth/soup so that the flavors and color seep inside. Tasty!
