05-14 Xi'an Famous Foods
Xi'an Famous Foods has been an enormously successful local mini chain, and we're really happy for them. The food is always good, always spicy in the happiness inducing way. Today we opted for my favorite, Liang Pi Cold-Skin Noodles - which has the most satisfying texture which is hard to describe, the oxtail hand-pulled noodles and the cucumber salad. We were happy with the variety of flavors and contrast of textures between the three dishes. This particular location seems to provide a welcome refuge from the excessive tourist crowds squinting upwards taking photos of the Empire State Building.

Is that dish served cold? How interesting.

I had an enjoyable plate of noodles at a different location on my last NYC trip. I wish I had known about the cucumber salad, as it looks good.

The Liang Pi noodles are cold, and probably my personal favorite from Xi'an. If you didn't try it, you'll have to wait till next time!

Lovelove Xi'an! Their Mount Qi noodles helped me power through this past neverendingwinter, and that cucumber side is so perfect with anything really. FYI new location on 34th st has actual seating options!
