4:00pm lemon cake

07-30 lemon pound cake
Yowsers! This lemon (pound?) cake from Oro packs a one-two punch, first from the almost too tart fresh squeezed lemon and second from the sugary sweetness.

I had one of those today too! Tasty. I like the new shape.

Have you been to City Girl Cafe on Thompson St? They make a really good peanut butter granola bar. Just so you know.

I believe that is actually lemon tea bread made in muffin form. We used to make it all the time in culinary school and the way you described it as "...almost too tart..." was the give away. If you'd like the (easy) recipe, just email me and I'd be happy to look it up for you.

mc: yes the new shape makes it easy to save a bite for another day! we have been to city girl but i don't think we've tried the pb granola - thanks for the tip, it'll be on our list for next time. :)

cali: ahso, we didn't think of the tea bread option. i suppose the muffin form confused us. the denseness of it was pretty nice.
